What is Medicaid?
Medicaid is the health insurance program available to those who meet certain requirements related to income, age, disability or resources. You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
If you are trying to obtain health care through Medicaid, either for you or a family member, you need to find out about eligibility and how to apply. Medicaid applicants must have:
Proof of age and citizenship
Social Security card
Proof of current income and assets
Medicare benefit card
