CCM Opens Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Center in East New York

Day Health Center Provides Personalized Health Care for Culturally Diverse Population of Seniors

Brooklyn, NY, October 29, 2009–Comprehensive Care Management (CCM) announces the grand opening of its Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Center in Brooklyn, NY. The PACE program provides personalized health care for seniors in the Brownsville and East New York communities with long-term needs by offering them on-site access to a medical team of doctors, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, among others. In addition to addressing their medical needs, CCM PACE offers members an opportunity to socialize by participating in an array of therapeutic recreational activities, such as Tai Chi, yoga, fine arts instruction, skilled beadwork, and Wii games. There is also an English as a Second Language (ESL) program for Creole-speaking members who would like to learn English.

Culturally sensitive to the needs of its diverse member population, this CCM PACE center has staff members who speak Creole, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and other Asian dialects.

“Having people on staff that can speak the same language as our members makes a big difference in our ability to interact and communicate with them,” said CCM Site Director Erika Bentley. “In this welcoming environment, our members can receive on-site medical care, participate in stimulating social activities and make new friends, all under one roof--a huge benefit for the elderly.”
