Comprehensive Care Management (CCM) Opens Day Health Care Center for the Elderly in Yonkers

Program Provides Access to Personalized Health Care and Therapeutic Recreation for Seniors

Yonkers, NY, November 19, 2009–Comprehensive Care Management (CCM) Greenburgh announces the grand opening of its day health care center for the elderly in Yonkers, NY. CCM Yonkers offers seniors a great opportunity to interact with each other in order to prevent isolation and depression. At the Center seniors engage in a variety of therapeutic recreation activities, such as tai chi, yoga, dominoes, crocheting, and modified sports and exercise. People from diverse backgrounds and nationalities can often be found working together in groups to create and complete a myriad of projects, including murals. Culturally sensitive to the needs of its diverse member population, CCM Yonkers has staff members who speak English, Spanish and Korean.

CCM members who visit the Yonkers site receive medical care at the CCM Greenburgh site through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Round trip transportation to and from both sites is provided to these members. CCM is the nation’s largest PACE provider, and offers personalized health care for seniors with long-term medical needs by offering them access to a medical team of doctors, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, among others.

CCM has been providing health care to seniors in Westchester for 13 years, tending to the medical needs of over 500 people.
