Financial, media and marketing, software and technology lions add their expertise and counsel to the CCM Board
BRONX, NY, April 13, 2011 -- Four leaders in the financial, media and marketing, software and technology realms are bringing their collective expertise and counsel to the Board of Directors of CCM, a member of the Beth Abraham Family of Health Services (BAFHS).
The four newly appointed outside board members are Parker Global Strategies Senior Vice President Rick T. Babich, Newspaper National Network’s former Senior Vice President of Media and Operations Gerard A. Fragetti, Microsoft Health Solutions Group’s Howard L. Krain and J. David Nelson, Vice Chairman of the Chicago-based software company, VaporStream, Inc.
"These four executives augment the existing talents of the CCM Board with an impressive depth of experience, insight and innovation,’ said BAFHS President Michael Fassler. “We are delighted to welcome them and confident that with their knowledge and input, we will continue to increase the number of people we serve with quality healthcare in the greater New York community.”
About the new CCM Board Members:
Rick T. Babich is the senior vice president of research at Parker Global Strategies, an alternative investment firm in Stamford, CT. Primarily responsible for sourcing, analyzing and recommending hedge fund managers, monitoring investment portfolios and managing a team of analysts, Babich is also a member of the senior management team and chair of the company’s portfolio review committee. Prior to joining Parker Global Strategies in 2008, Babich was a research analyst with Commerzbank's Alternative Investment Strategies group in New York. He has also held various positions with Morgan Stanley, New York, JP Morgan & Co., New York, and Caxton Corporation, Plainsboro, NJ. Click here to download his photo.
Gerard A. Fragetti is the president of Max Media LLC, a media consulting company. He is the former senior vice president of media and operations at Newspaper National Network, NY, a $150-million national digital and traditional advertising sales network representing the newspaper industry (and owned by the nation’s top 25 newspaper chains). Previously, Fragetti served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Internet Tradeline, Inc.; and Talk Media, both in New York. In 1974, Fragetti was recruited by Rupert Murdoch and joined News Corporation, where he served for more than two decades in key leadership positions including executive vice president of News America’s Free Standing Insert (FSI) and In-Store divisions; chief financial officer of Murdoch Magazines, The New York Post and Skyband, a direct broadcast satellite company. Howard L. Krain is a sales executive at Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group, an innovative business unit that is focused on addressing the challenges of healthcare providers, payers, consumers and life science companies around the world with powerful software solutions that enable lower costs, higher quality care and ultimately better health outcomes. Krain’s focus is to identify and manage strategic partnerships with healthcare providers.. Prior to joining Microsoft, Krain was a Managing Principal and Senior Vice President for the National Healthcare Group within the corporate and institutional banking unit at PNC Financial Services. He has also held senior leadership marketing and business development positions in the healthcare IT and technology units of General Electric. Krain is a committee chairperson at Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), New Jersey Chapter, and is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow (FACHE). J. David Nelson served for more than three decades in a variety of management roles with IBM. One of the first executives in what is now IBM Global Services, Nelson’s focus was on new products, new markets and services both in White Plains and Beijing, China (where he managed the company’s largest business unit). After capping his career with IBM, Nelson became chief operating officer of The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), a New York City-based organization that provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities. He is presently the vice chairman and a board member of VaporStream, Inc., a Chicago-based software startup company, and sits on several boards and committees, including the AARP Foundation and the AARP National Board, and the World Affairs Forum of Stamford, a position he has held for six years.
