Help With Drug Costs

“Extra Help” (or “Low Income Subsidy”) is a Federal program that provides extra help for prescription drug costs for those with Medicare who have limited income and resources.

If you qualify for Extra Help, you will pay less in drug premiums and co-payments. You also will be covered during the Coverage Gap and will not have to pay a late enrollment penalty.

There are four different levels of Extra Help that, depending on your eligibility, cover either 100%, 75%, 50% or 25% of your monthly Medicare Part D plan premium. In order to use the Extra Help Program you must be enrolled in a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan such as CenterLight Healthcare Direct.
