A Tribute to Social Workers

In celebration of World Social Workers Day on Tuesday, our CenterLight PACE Westchester participants created a mural as a tribute to our amazing social workers. The beautiful work of art included heartfelt messages and words of thanks for the difference they make every day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Participants and staff at CenterLight's PACE center in Westchester celebrated St. Patrick's Day with style last Friday. We hope you enjoy these photos from the event. Look out for more from celebrations at our other PACE centers!

Welcome, Spring!

Hats off to Spring as we look back at how CenterLight PACE participants celebrated Easter! Our Westchester PACE site participants crafted Easter hats and enjoyed the day's festivities!

Paint and Sip

Our CenterLight PACE Westchester center had its first "paint and sip" class with our participants -- who were sipping sparkling cider of course! The art instructor, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Michelle, displayed a painting to give the artists a framework to use as they created their own interpretation of the piece of art. This framework helped the painters with a starting point and made them feel confident to have something to follow, yet still adding their own unique elements. Here are some examples of how the participants interpreted what they saw.

Fall Paintings

Through Art Therapy, our participants are guided step-by-step through detailed paintings, and they love it! Teamcare Recreation Therapist Arianna Corretjer puts it perfectly: "At the end of it all, besides seeing these beautiful works of art, we see HUGE smiles."

Aren't these pumpkin paintings by Westchester participants beautiful?

Westchester Participant Earns Citizenship

Pamella, one of our participants at our Westchester Teamcare center, became a US citizen earlier this year! She's pictured here with Donna, her physical therapist. Pamella said that she chose to become a US citizen because her opportunity in this country is better as a citizen. She's also proud to have the right to vote. Her family helped her through the process.

Pamella's advice for younger generations? Put God first in all they do, take care of their parents and the older generations, and forgive and love each other.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
